Breathe PA’s Certified Asthma Educators will provide research-based delivery models which include a variety of asthma and allergy interventions strategies demonstrated through progressive case studies to help increase the Learner’s knowledge of asthma and allergy so it can be applied in ongoing educational practice. They will learn how to integrate the concepts into all levels of school, home and community settings. With proper application, studies show a reduction in morbidity indicators and school absenteeism for students with asthma and allergy. The educational activities (demonstration, role-play, and teach-back) provide practice and application strategies which lead to better control of asthma, a chronic disease, in a multitude of settings. The Learner is provided with handouts, resources, and community contacts to encourage future partnerships. Participants must complete a Pre/Post and Satisfaction Survey and the full two-hour training in order to receive (2) Act 48 credits.
