Since 1904, Breathe Pennsylvania has promoted the fight against tuberculosis. Although the organization mission has evolved to include the prevention of all lung disease, we continue to pioneer TB programs, education and training.
Today, Breathe Pennsylvania offers public and professional TB education materials, training and financial support for tuberculosis services and research. Professional programs include publication of tuberculosis treatment standards to assure current and consistent regimens for patient care; TB Skin Test Training Workshops that teach health care workers how to organize and implement a TB testing program including administration and interpretation of the Mantoux tuberculin skin test; model TB arms for teaching skin test interpretation; rulers to measure TB test reactions and patient information wallet cards.
Our organization also implements public awareness campaigns and professional TB seminars as needed in the region.
