Jessica Schuman, RN, BSN, AE-C, started work with Breathe Pennsylvania in 2014. Her dedication to her work as both a nurse and certified asthma educator with Breathe Pennsylvania has been extraordinary.

Jessica is the Director of Asthma Education and Programs for Breathe Pennsylvania’s School Asthma Initiative (SAI). SAI is an asthma education program that provides training, direct services, advocacy, school and community-based education, and intervention services in our 10-county service area to promote a healthy life for all children diagnosed with asthma. She is involved with programs that work with children with asthma, their parents/guardians, school personnel and early learning practitioners. She is also involved with asthma training for professional students in healthcare roles.

Jessica is also recognized for her creative and innovative work with Breathe Pennsylvania’s Asthma Day, a program that combines education and recreation for children with asthma, ages 5-10 and their family. Asthma Day 2019 will be held at the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum on Saturday- August 11.

Jessica’s compassion, dedication as a nurse, and as a certified asthma educator have made working with her a real joy. Bravo Jessica!
