Testing for Tuberculosis Infection

“Testing for Tuberculosis Infection” is a FREE on-line continuing nursing education learning activity sponsored by Breathe Pennsylvania in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. The purpose of this educational program is to provide health care professionals who are engaged in tuberculosis (TB) containment with a review of the Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test (TST), which is widely used in testing for TB infection.  According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the identification and treatment of TB infection is the most effective means of eliminating tuberculosis disease.

Upon completion of the on-line activity, including the post-test and evaluation, eligible nursing participants will receive 1.5 continuing nursing education contact hours from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
