The Pediatric Community Asthma Educator training teaches asthma basics to individuals in the community who work with caregivers of children with asthma. A Certificate of Completion from Breathe PA will be awarded upon successful completion of the two-hour virtual training and a Pre, Post, and Satisfaction Survey

Training Objectives:
Demonstrate “Best Practice” utilizing the NHLBI Guidelines.
Recall and list current asthma statistics.
Describe and explain the mechanisms of lungs and asthma.
Compare and differentiate asthma early warning signs, triggers and medication.
Recognize and address common barriers to asthma management and TEAM roles.
Practice Assessing and Monitoring.
